Reconfiguring 8800 after HardBoot |

There are 5 tasks that need to be performed after Hard
Booting a Symbol 8800 Scanner aside from the "Welcome" process (Screen
calibration, etc...):
1) Resetting the ActiveSync Baud Rate
2) Resetting the Time/Date 3)
Program the Scanner 4)
Load Inspector Data 5)
Configure Internet DialUp Connection (if
using Scanner FTP)

Resetting the ActiveSync Baud Rate: |
a) Click "Start" -> "ActiveSync"
b) Click "Tools" in the bottom left corner
c) Click "Options..." on the pop-up menu
d) Click the "Options.." button near
center-right of screen
e) Checkmark is set for "Enable PC sync using this
connection:"
f) Change the baud rate to:
i.) 57,600 if you have NOT run "Initialize
Scanner"
from within U-Trap-It on the desktop PC.
ii.) 115,200 if
you HAVE run "Initialize
Scanner" from
within U-Trap-It on the desktop PC.
g) Select "Disconnect when done" h) Click "OK" in
the top right corner (this takes you back to the PC Synch screen)
i) Click "OK" in
the top right corner, again (this takes you back to the
first ActiveSync screen) j) Click the "X" in the top right
corner (this takes you back to the Today screen)
This task is done.

Resetting the Time and Date: |
a) Click "Start" -> "Settings"
b) Click the "Systems" tab at the bottom of the screen
c) Click the "Clock" icon d) Make sure that "Home"
is selected e) Set the Time Zone, Date, and Time to the proper
settings for your location.
This task is done.

Scanner (with Software)"

Within U-Trap-It on the Desktop PC, run "Load CE Device with
Inspector Data"

Note: Step
5 is only for those
clients using FTP on their scanners.
If you don't use FTP on your scanner, then YOU ARE DONE. |
