Symbol 2800 / 8800                                            (Revised 09/03/2006)
 This setting is required to activate external Modem devices.

You must check and set the External 5 Volt Setting after a Hard Reboot of the Symbol 2800/8800 Scanners in order for an external Modem device to work.
Failure to enable this feature will result in "Port in Use" and "Port Not Detected" Errors within the FTP Dialing component.

 With your stylus:

1)       Click: Start -> Settings.

1)       Click “System” tab at screen bottom.

2)       Click “Symbol Settings” icon at screen bottom.
(Looks like circular barcode - may be slightly hidden)

3)       Click “Settings” tab at screen bottom.

4)       Set “External 5 Volts Power" to "Active On"

5)       Click “OK” in top right screen corner

6)   Click “X” in top right screen corner
